Welcome to my blog!
The posts will mostly be pieces about mathematics, which I find interesting.

Canonicity of linear independence

One of the cool results in model theory is that in any elementary class there can be at most one good independence relation. We call this canonicity of independence. In this post we take a look at the specific case of vector spaces, and we prove that any good independence relation in vector spaces must be linear independence. No prior knowledge of model theory is required, the proof only uses basic linear algebra (i.e. linear independence and bases).

New website
